Worldbuilding notes

About this time last year I had to set up a new website. I’d used Webs since 2014, then they got taken over by Vistaprint. After three years of occasional messages that web sites would be migrated (coming soon) they finally decided that helping website owners with any kind of migration tools was too much trouble so we were on our own. I opted to move to WordPress and started manually rebuilding my site.

Thankfully I had most of the raw page content in documents on my laptop, but it was still a steep learning curve and the site has been a work in progress ever since.

Alongside books and artwork, I used to have pages of background information on the various story worlds. It’s taken a while, but I’ve finally posted pages for Shayla’s, Anna’s and Tiamat’s worlds. You can find them under “The workshop” tab in the site header. There are maps, plans and sketches, worldbuilding notes and background research. There are towns and buildings, ships and vehicles. A load of material that went into telling the stories that you won’t find anywhere else.

In other news, all my ebooks will be on special offer on the Smashwords site for the month of July. All novels reduced from $3.99 to $0.99, and the two non-fiction booklets will be free.
