Cover art evolution

After a few last intensive rounds of editing, The Videshi Dilemma is with the book designer to finalize the layout and prepare PDFs to upload. The last two months included painting the cover art. I like to take progress photos along the way, so you can see the image as it evolves.

I work in gouache on a large sheet of card (22” x 28”) which you can see taped to my easel in these pics. There is some colour variation from one to the next, which is just down to lighting conditions at the time of the photo.

The last image is the final work ready to be turned into a cover.
